Oestra® vs Injections

Understanding Oestra® vs Hormone Injections

Hormone injections deliver a large dose at once - but that approach comes with important differences compared to Oestra®.

If you're currently using hormone injections and considering a transition to Oestra®, it's important to understand that the way your body receives hormones will change significantly. While injections provide a larger amount of hormone at scheduled intervals, Oestra® is designed to provide more consistent daily hormone support through vaginal delivery.

Because injections create peaks and valleys in hormone levels over time, transitioning to Oestra® requires a more individualized approach than switching from pills, patches, or topical creams.

Before beginning Oestra®, we recommend reaching out to our Clinical Team for guidance.

Unlike oral HRT or patches, there is no standard 2-week overlap recommendation for injectable hormone therapy. Starting Oestra® too soon after an injection may result in excessive hormone exposure, while waiting too long could allow hormone levels to drop more than intended. Our clinicians can help determine the most appropriate timing for your individual transition.

How Injections Work

Injections:

  • Deliver hormones in large, intermittent doses

  • Often create peaks and crashes in hormone levels

This can lead to:

  • Temporary symptom relief followed by dips

  • Mood or energy fluctuations

How Oestra® Works Differently

Oestra® provides:

  • Daily, steady hormone delivery

  • More natural hormone patterns

  • Consistent levels over time

Why Steady Levels Matter

Your body thrives on stability. With Oestra®:

  • Hormones remain more balanced

  • Symptoms are less likely to fluctuate

  • Your system can regulate more effectively

Bottom Line

Injections deliver hormones in bursts. Oestra® delivers them consistently and efficiently, which often leads to a smoother, more stable experience.
