If you're considering Oestra®, you may be wondering how long it has been used and what kind of clinical experience exists behind the treatment. Understanding the history of a treatment can be an important part of feeling informed and confident in your care.
How was Oestra® developed?
Oestra® was developed by Dr. Sarah Daccarett, Medical Director of Inner Balance, through her direct clinical practice beginning approximately eight years ago.
Since its initial development, the formulation and treatment approach have continued to be refined through Dr. Daccarett's clinical experience caring for women throughout perimenopause and menopause.
Oestra® was therefore developed and used in clinical practice well before Inner Balance was founded in 2023.
Additionally, the use of bioidentical estradiol and micronized progesterone in hormone therapy has a history extending well beyond Oestra® itself.
How much clinical experience is there with Oestra®?
Inner Balance was founded in 2023, bringing the Oestra® approach to a much larger community of women. Since then, Inner Balance has treated more than 60,000 women.
Combined with the years of clinical practice that preceded the founding of Inner Balance, this represents meaningful, ongoing clinical experience with Oestra®.
What does this experience tell us?
The experience of tens of thousands of women reflects real, ongoing clinical experience with Oestra®, but we believe clinical experience on its own is not a substitute for dedicated scientific research, and we do not present the number of women treated as proof of Oestra®'s effectiveness or outcomes.
We remain committed to continuing to study our approach and building the dedicated research behind Oestra® as our clinical experience continues to grow.
Our goal is to be transparent about both the history behind Oestra® and the work that continues as we learn, study, and advance our approach to women's hormone care.
