Where hormones end, Libida™ begins. Desire, restored - through science and synergy.

Updated over a week ago

Is Libida™ hormonal?

No. Libida™ is non-hormonal and works through brain-based neurochemical pathways. It can be used with or without hormone therapy.

Can I use Libida™ with Oestra®?

Yes. Libida™ is designed to complement Oestra®, not replace it. Oestra® provides the hormonal foundation; Libida™ adds the neurological and emotional spark.

Is Libida™ FDA-approved?

Libida™ contains the same active ingredient used in an FDA-approved injectable treatment for desire, which is approved for premenopausal women. Libida™ itself is a compounded medication used off-label under clinician supervision.

How often can I use Libida™?

Most women use Libida™ only when they desire intimacy. Libida™ is NOT designed for daily use.

Do NOT use more than one dose in 72 hours, and don’t exceed 10 doses per month.

Follow your clinician’s guidance.

Will it work if testosterone didn’t help me?

Yes. Libida™ does not rely on testosterone pathways and is often effective for women who did not respond to testosterone-based approaches.

Is Libida™ for all life stages?

Libida™ may be appropriate for premenopausal, perimenopausal, postmenopausal, and surgically menopausal women, depending on clinical evaluation.

Can I use Libida™ while Breastfeeding

Libida™ is not recommended while breastfeeding.

Because there are no clinical studies evaluating the safety of Libida™ during breastfeeding, we cannot determine whether the medication could pass into breast milk or affect a nursing infant.

For this reason, our providers follow a precautionary safety approach and recommend waiting until breastfeeding has ended before starting Libida™.

What is the difference between Libida™ and Viagra

Viagra (sildenafil) is primarily blood-flow based.

Viagra is best known for treating erectile dysfunction (ED). It works mainly in the body (not the brain) by supporting a normal erection response when sexual stimulation is already present.

Libida™ - desire + connection (brain pathways)

Female desire is not driven by blood flow alone - it is primarily a neurological and emotional process. Libida™ is designed to support desire through two complementary brain pathways:

Bremelanotide → Desire & Motivation

  • Activates the melanocortin (MC4R) pathway

  • Increases dopamine-driven sexual motivation

  • Supports desire, arousal, fantasies, and satisfaction

  • Backed by randomized controlled trial data in its FDA-approved injectable form (bremelanotide is the active ingredient in Vyleesi for HSDD in premenopausal women).

Oxytocin → Connection & Emotional Readiness

  • Enhances bonding and emotional safety

  • Supports openness, trust, and intimacy

  • Helps align desire with connection — a key driver of female arousal

Together: Motivation + connection = arousal.

One-line takeaway

  • Viagra: supports physical blood-flow response (primarily for ED).

  • Libida™: supports brain-based desire + emotional readiness (motivation + connection).
