Yeast Infections

Estrogen rebuilds the vaginal lining and restores Lactobacillus over time, which protects against yeast/BV. Early shifts can briefly flare symptoms; simple supports usually settle things.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Why symptoms can appear early

  • Estradiol increases glycogen in vaginal cells, feeding Lactobacillus and lowering pH.

  • During the transition, flora can shift, allowing yeast or BV to flare before stabilizing.

What to do now

  • Continue Oestra® and add an oral Lactobacillus acidophilus probiotic.

  • Medical options if symptoms are strong/recurrent: fluconazole (Diflucan) via PCP/urgent care or OTC miconazole (Monistat).

  • Natural option: Manuka honey vaginally once daily (antifungal; disrupts biofilms).

  • Timing tip: Separate Oestra® from honey/antifungals (e.g., Oestra® AM, treatment PM) so they don’t interfere.

Outlook As tissues thicken and pH normalizes, yeast/BV typically become less likely.
