Fast Metabolism ("Fast Metabolizer")

Some women clear hormones faster, so symptoms may improve more slowly. Diet and digestion tweaks, plus thoughtful timing or dose adjustments, can help your body hold on to and use hormones better.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Why this happens

  • Some bodies metabolize estrogen/progesterone quickly, so levels don’t stay steady early on.

  • This doesn’t mean Oestra® isn’t working - it means we should support absorption and retention while your system adjusts.

What helps

  • Boost protein to ~100 g/day. Slows hormone clearance, steadies blood sugar, supports liver processing.

  • Go easy on fiber (temporarily). Reduce beans, raw greens, and fiber powders if symptoms are lingering.

  • Support digestion/bile flow. Consider ox bile, HCL + pepsin, or a broad digestive enzyme (e.g., Digestzymes) to reduce bloating and improve absorption.

  • Add probiotics. Lactobacillus acidophilus (foods or supplements) supports estrogen balance in the gut & vaginal tissue.

  • Avoid hormone-clearing supplements for now (DIM, calcium d‑glucarate, heavy cruciferous concentrates).

  • Optional liver support (case-by-case): NAC, milk thistle, or glutathione if recommended.

  • Limit alcohol. Alcohol speeds hepatic clearance of hormones.

When to consider dose changes

  • If after 2–3 months you still have vaginal dryness or hot flashes (especially if you are under 49), discuss a dose change or split dosing AM/PM for steadier levels.

Bottom line Supporting a fast metabolism isn’t only about “more dose”—it’s making sure your body can use what you already apply.
