Iodine
Use for: Breast tenderness, nipple pain, and swelling.
How much: 1500 mcg, 3–7x per week is recommended.
What to know: Start with a low dose (e.g., once a week) and increase gradually. This helps prevent temporary "detox" symptoms like fatigue or headache, which can occur as iodine displaces fluoride and bromide from receptors.
Magnesium
Use for: Mild to moderate uterine cramping.
How much: The most effective method is absorption through the skin via Epsom salt baths (1-2 cups) 1-2 times a week.
What to know: While uncomfortable, cramping is a normal part of the adjustment process for many and usually resolves within 14 days. Ibuprofen can also be used if needed.
Digestive support
Use for: Bloating, gas, or intestinal cramping.
How much: Ox bile 250 mg a day and digestive enzymes with large meals are recommended.
What to know: These symptoms typically resolve on their own within 2-4 weeks. A low-fiber diet can also be helpful during the adjustment period.
