As your hormones begin to balance, you may experience some temporary changes.

  • Significant bloating

    • What it is: First-time users with PCOS may experience significant bloating when starting Oestra™.

    • What helps: This side effect can take 6 weeks or more to subside. Our clinical team can recommend supplements to help manage this during the adjustment period.

  • Breast tenderness & swelling

    • What it is: Experienced by 80-90% of women and usually resolves in a few weeks. It's often a sign of iodine deficiency.

    • What helps: Iodine supplementation (1500 mcg, 3-7x per week) is recommended and can resolve tenderness.

  • Temporary water retention

    • What it is: Less than 10% of women may experience this in the first month. It can be related to untreated low thyroid, iron deficiency, or histamine intolerance.

Results timeline

  • Early On: Many women find their period resumes early on in the treatment. 90% of clients see their period return within 2-6 months.

  • Week 4: You may notice your period has returned to normal.

  • Week 6: You may experience less bloating and notice that hair has stopped falling out.

  • 8-12 Weeks: Initial PCOS symptom relief is typically reported by this time.

  • 6+ Months: Weight loss can take 6 months or more as your testosterone levels lower and your body adjusts.
